Tania Bakum

I am a multidisciplinary artist from Pereiaslav, Ukraine, working between Poland and Ukraine.

I started my artistic career in 2022. I use analog photography, performance, textiles, and alternative forms of photo printing. My work is connected to exploring themes of feminism, personal and collective memory, intergenerational trauma, and social taboos.

I operate at the intersection of traditional and innovative techniques, experimenting with materials and the processes of their transformation. My methods are closely aligned with ritualistic practices.

My projects also engage with themes of forced migration, adaptation processes, sexuality, and death. The body in my works appears as an object detached from identity, emphasizing the ritualistic and sculptural nature of physical form.
